Studied Exchange Program in Sciences Politique Paris, France

“I had experienced in leading many online discussions in my university talking about international politics, the U.S politics and the involvement of the United Nations in various issues, also did many online discussions through email and skype, with gender specialist of UNFPA Rwanda, and Rwanda Men Organization in order to finish my undergraduate thesis. So based on my experiences, online learning is indeed a very helpful way of learning or teaching.” -Kartika-

My name is Kartika. I am 23 years old, graduated from Universitas Gadjah Mada, majoring International Relation in International Undergraduate Program on November 2015. I love to read novels any novels from drama, classics, and suspense, from Shakespeare, Jane Austin, C.S Lewis, but Fantasies are my favorites. Books are my first tool to learn English. As I studied International relations, I realize that English is a very important subject to communicate with others, especially when you are facing people from the international community. So, during my studies English was the central tool to communicate, to present my views and to write my papers, especially during my Exchange Program in Sciences Politique Paris, in Reims, France. In France itself, even when the French language is dominant outside the class, at school I had to use English during lessons due to the presence of mostly international students. Also during my undergraduate thesis research on Rwanda Gender Politics issue I had to interview people from outside Indonesia in order to finish my thesis that acquires me to use. English, and as what I had experienced above, I realize that you do not always needs books and theories to learn English. Yes they are quite important, but you can also learn English by doing it, practice it with people around you, or simply do what you love with English.
